With the diversification of architectural forms and styles, double-curved aluminum panels are increasingly favored by property owners and curtain wall designers. Due to the difficulty of processing, few aluminum panel manufacturers can produce double-curved panels, and many projects have to abandon their original designs.
Traditional decorative materials such as marble and glass are truly durable, but their physical properties are predetermined - they do not bend or weld and are simply widely used on flat building surfaces. In the decoration of high-rise buildings, for safety considerations, national decoration guidelines have suggested prohibiting their use. For complex architectural forms, they are at a loss; however, double-curved aluminum panel manufacturers can bend and expand, making all shapes more convenient and simple. For the renewal of double-curved panels, traditional decorative materials such as marble simply cannot match.
Under the current new energy policies, double-curved aluminum panel manufacturers can completely replace wood and marble with new thermal-transfer technology, with unparalleled performance and recyclability. Compared with declining energy materials, its advantages are self-evident. Through nearly a decade of R&D and production in the aluminum panel industry, techniques such as brushing, oxidation and gold plating have brought aluminum panels to a new level. Double-curved aluminum panel manufacturers not only supply building decorative materials but also change their shapes and colors - a rare combination of craftsmanship and art.
More and more urban buildings are no longer limited to rectangular shapes but present diverse artistic forms, such as spherical buildings or imitations of living creatures. Although the area may not be large, one can see that the construction of such a project is difficult and complex.
What we want to study is the metal decoration on the surface of such buildings - the free-form panel, also known in the construction industry as the double-curved aluminum panel. Below, we briefly introduce the manufacturing process of double-curved aluminum panels.
In the first step, appropriate processes are adopted according to different curvatures and shapes. The second step is to make templates according to the drawings. In the third step, the panel is first rounded in the X direction with a four-roll rounding machine using the single-bend panel process, and then bent to the required curvature on the surface in the Y direction with local spot welding. In the fourth step, the initially formed workpiece is inspected against the template, and local parts are corrected again. In the fifth step, welding is carried out during installation around the perimeter. Step 6: special double-curved panels can be formed by open-die hydraulic forming or stretch forming. Step 7: after forming, welding and polishing are required, and aluminum panels are usually finished by polishing, cleaning, painting and various treatments.
